Captain Caveman, Ken Williams, scorches your eardrums on lead vocals. Ken has an extensive range in the likes of Ronnie James Dio and Todd la Torre. Tone Enforcer, Jeff (Jefe') Campbell, squashes you with beefy anthems on Lead Guitar. The Foot Doctor, Tim Gray, is a percussion specialist on Drums throwing back to Tommy Aldridge and Mikkey Dee. And, Teddy Owensby, the Bass Angler, has got you hooked with precision and skill supplying an earth-like foundation.
Pains Chapel has over 100 years of cumulative service, with each member winning various awards for their craft and ability. All unwavering pros, Pains Chapel write and produce with authority and deliver a captivating live show.

Press:

"Pains Chapel from Chattanooga, TN. From the start they were loud. Like, concert arena loud (there was even an echo in the mic) and I bet it would be quite the treat to see them play one. Talk about an awesome band!

As the second song started somebody told me Ken sounds like Halford, and indeed during said song I was reminded of Priest. The barefoot bassist, partially sitting down while playing, was different. There was a great solo by the three music playing members and Ken’s voice is great. The range and pitch is perfect, not many vocalists these days with this kind of singing talent. I liked Tim’s drum playing technique, how he would basically “catch” his drumstick with every beat.

A very unique band with a potential to be bigger than they are now. The people that didn’t come have no idea what a great band they missed."

"If there was ever any fondness in your heart for the kind of music that may as well be aural amphetamines, you’re going to LOVE these guys—so break out the spikes and come enjoy a stage show every bit as impressive as the tunes they play.
It’s back to the golden age of heavy metal with these mosh pit surviving locals.
From the moment I slipped on the headphones and pressed play, I was transported back to a time of torn denim, heavily adorned with studs, spikes and sharpie marker art.”

- Marc Michael, The Pulse (Apr 16, 2015)

“Rock is alive and well in the music of Chattanooga natives Pains Chapel, a band whose influences form the canon of classic rock 'n' roll. The band stomps, thrashes and hurls out guitar riffs like bolts of lightning. Their music is primal and sourced from the very earliest hard rock histories. And though many hard rock bands trade innovation for loudness, Pains Chapel works a nostalgic classic rock aesthetic that would easily have felt at home in the early '70s and puts their influences to work creating uniquely devastating rhythms, squalling sheets of guitar noise and a percussive roar.

On "Alive," the band shows that they're not just mindless hard rock heroes—the song is measured and ferocious, like the best of Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath. Williams howls like Robert Plant, and Campbell streaks the track with flourishes of ornate guitar theatrics. Owensby and Gray provide the necessary framework on which to hang these formidable sounds.”
